T-BALL

·         Non draft league

·          Boys and girls

·         Age range (as of start of season): ~4 1/2 to 5 ½

·         T-ball plays two nights a week at Waiola Park and 7th Avenue Field.  Game days are scheduled Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays.

·         Teams are formed based on friend requests, school affiliation, and address proximity first and foremost to ensure the kids have a great time with friends.   LGLL tries to accommodate all requests but cannot promise all requests will be met. 

COACH PITCH BASEBALL

·         Non draft league

·         Kindergarten players, 5-6 years old that have completed one season of Tee-Ball.

·         Players hit a safety ball pitched by their coach or off an adjustable tee.  Basic game rules are taught and players are rotated among the different fielding positions.  

·         Coach Pitch plays at Waiola Park and 7th Avenue Field two nights a week.  Each team may also have some additional practices throughout the season.  Game days are scheduled Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays.

ROOKIES BASEBALL

·         Non draft league

·         1st grade players

·         This league makes the transition from coach pitch to player pitch in the second half of the season.  Coaches may also incorporate machine pitch to maximize hitting fundamentals.  Basic game rules are taught and players are rotated among the different fielding positions.

·         Rookies division plays at Gurrie Fields two nights a week.  Each team may also have some additional practices throughout the season.  Games days are scheduled Tuesdays, Fridays & Saturdays.

FARM LEAGUE BASEBALL

·       Non draft league

·       2nd Grade players

·       Farm league is the first level played with balls, strikes and outs along with kids pitching and playing catcher.  The innings end when a team gets 3 outs or scores 5 runs.  Players will play all positions over the course of the season.

·       Farm division plays at Gurrie Fields two nights a week.  Additional practices will be scheduled by the team coach throughout the season.  Game days are Mondays & Thursdays.

·       All Star team eligibility: Yes.  Managers will select players to play on district and tournament teams.  

·       Teams are formed based on friend requests, school affiliation, and address proximity first and foremost to ensure the kids have a great time with friends.   LGLL tries to accommodate all requests, but cannot promise all requests will be met. 

For draft divisions, players are evaluated and drafted by skill, but typically assigned to leagues by grade.

C LEAGUE BASEBALL

·         Draft league

·         3rd grade players

·         C League continues the development from Farm league.  Scores count and standings are maintained.  The season ends with a playoff series.  

·         C League plays at Sedgwick Park two nights a week.  Coaches will schedule a separate practice time each week.  Game days are scheduled Mondays, Wednesdays & Saturdays.

·         All Star team eligibility: Yes.  Managers will select players to play on district and tournament teams.

B LEAGUE BASEBALL

·         Draft league

·         4th & 5th grade players

·         In B League, players will begin stealing bases and additional rules are enforced to keep an even level of play.  The season ends with a playoff series.

·         B league plays at Sedgwick Park two nights a week.  Coaches will schedule a separate practice time each week.  Game days are Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays.

·         All Star team eligibility: Yes.  Managers will select players to play on district and tournament teams.

A LEAGUE BASEBALL

·         Draft league

·         5th & 6th grade players

·         A League consists of 12 year olds and some 11 year olds that are drafted up in A league.  Any 11 year old not drafted into A league will play in B league.  The season ends with a playoff series and the winning team will go on to the Overholt Tournament in Brookfield.  

·         A league plays at Sedgwick Park two nights a week.  Coaches will schedule a separate practice time each week.  Game days are Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays.

·         All Star team eligibility: Yes.  Managers will select players to play on district and tournament teams.

INTERMEDIATE LEAGUE BASEBALL

·         Draft league

·        6th & 7th graders.

·         Intermediate League consists of players ages 11-13.   Intermediate League follows standard baseball rules.  This league is eligible to compete in a postseason tournament the culminates in the Intermediate (50/70) Baseball World Series.

·         Intermediate league plays at Sedgwick Park two nights a week.  Coaches will schedule a separate practice time each week.  Game days are Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays.

·         All Star team eligibility: Yes.  Managers will select players to play on district and tournament teams.
