Return to Play Guidelines

The health and safety of our players, families and coaches are our top priority. LGLL will adhere to CDC, State of Illinois and Little League International guidelines as we resume play. Our return-to-play guidelines can be found here. Please take a moment to review these guidelines. Parents, players, and coaches will be expected to follow these guidelines to maximize a safe environment for everyone. Those who do not follow our return-to-play guidelines will not be allowed to participate in any LGLL activities.

Safety Resources

In addition to the above safety guidelines, additional Manager/Coach Guidelines can be found here.

2020 Waiver FormEvery player will need to submit a waiver before they are allowed to practice or attend a game.

Reporting a positive test or exposure

If your child has tested positive for COVID-19, or has been exposed to a family member or another individual who has tested positive, it is critical that the parent email both your child's manager and [email protected] as soon as possible so that we can take immediate action to protect your child and other players/coaches.

The following protocol will be in effect this season:

1.       Positive COVID-19 test (Coach/player)

·       Entire team will not be allowed to practice, play in a game or engage in team activities for at least 14 days after last contact

·       Positive COVID player/coach must test negative before returning to play

·       Tracing will take place to determine if the infected individual came in contact with any people outside the team for an extended period of time (less than 6 feet for 15 minutes or more)

·       Any games scheduled during this quarantine period will be made up before playoffs, if applicable

·       Parents on team and on other teams which recently played the affected team will be alerted

·       Dugout and common areas on field will be sanitized

2.       Positive COVID-19 test of an individual with whom the player/coach resides

·       The individual player or coach will not be allowed to practice, play in a game or engage in any team activities for at least 14 days

·       Affected player/coach must test negative before returning to play

·       Tracing will take place to determine whether more severe measures (e.g., quarantine of team) should be taken

3.       Player/coach/family member of player/coach is exposed to an individual who has tested positive

·       The individual player or coach will not be allowed to practice, play in a game or engage in any team activities until they test negative for COVID-19

·       Additional precautions may be taken when a family member has been exposed and there is any ongoing risk to the player/coach

·       Tracing will take place to determine whether more severe measures (e.g., quarantine of team) should be taken

4.       Symptoms of COVID-19: Player must remain symptom-free for 72 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications before returning to practice or play in a game

5.       Travel to “hot spots”:  Cook County has issued travel guidance in which individuals are recommended to observe a 14-day quarantine when they return from any state with high incidence of COVID-19 infections.  The details of this guidance can be found here: https://cookcountypublichealth.org/communicable-diseases/covid-19/covid-19-travel-guidance/  LGLL families are expected to follow this guidance upon return from a hot spot.
